The original featured an all-star cast: Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Darryl Hannah and Olympia Dukakis. Like the 1989 movie (which was based on a stage play), Lifetime’s new version will revolve around a close group of women in Louisiana.
Deadline reports that the network is developing an original movie based on the hit film.
